What To Expect
When You
Call
When you
first contact the Center, you will likely speak to either Susan or Beverly, our Administrative Assistants, who are available to answer
your general questions about our services.
If you have decided to seek counseling with the Central DuPage
Pastoral Counseling Center, you will be asked to provide your name,
address, and contact phone number(s). The staff person you speak
with will also need to do a brief "intake" over the
telephone. She will ask you what type of counseling you seek, if
you will be using insurance to help pay for your counseling and if so,
specific information regarding your carrier, if you have any
restrictions regarding phone messages or correspondence, if you have a
specific counselor you would like to see or a preference about the
gender of the counselor you see, and if you are
a member of an affiliate church. Please have your insurance information
handy when you call the first time.
Prior to your first visit, you will need to complete
the "New Client Form" (see link to the left). You can
print the form to complete it at home if you like, but be sure to
bring it with you when you come for your first appointment. Please
also make sure to bring your insurance card so that our office staff can
make a copy of it.
If you already know which pastoral counselor you would like to see, the
information taken over the telephone will be provided to that therapist,
who will then call you personally to make an appointment. In most
cases, you should hear from the therapist within 24 to 48 hours.
If you are not sure which therapist you would like to work with, the
information you provide will be given to Dr. Patricia Francis, O.P., our Director of
Counseling Services, who will assign a therapist to you.
All information you provide will be handled with care and
confidentiality.
